HOW TO GET THERE

The easiest way to get to Jumla is to fly. It is possible to go overland by bus from Kathmandu and Nepalgunj which takes about two days from both places, but these days due to improvements and paved roads of Karnali Highway private Jeep owners started Jeep services from Nepaljung and Surkhet which costs Rs.2000/- & Rs.1700/-  per person respectively. It's takes approx 9/10 hours to reach Jumla by Jeeps.

Traveling on Karnali Highway by buses was not recommended before; but these days things has been changed.............we suggests you better to hire a Jeep from Surkhet or Nepaljung which costs around Rs.20,000/- oneway to Jumla.

Flying to Jumla

From Nepalgunj and Surkhet there are daily flights of  Tara Air or Yeti Air.Thus,One who are planning to trek in Karnali region (Jumla, Humla, Mugu, Dolpa) we recommend you to buy round tickets of Tara or Yeti airlines so that you will be given first priority when you would like to fly back to Nepaljung. To be noted, Yeti and Tara are only airlines which flew in Karnali region all over the year.

The flights of  Goma Air and Sita Air are not regular. Nepal Airlines flies twice a week but their schedule are irregular.

To get Nepalgunj from Kathmandu, you can fly (approx 50 mins flight) or take a luxury buses (approx 12 /13 hours driving ) with A/C and no A/C.
